The success story of MWS Aluguss GmbH began with the takeover of the renowned foundry Bühlguss at the locations in Kufstein and Klagenfurt, Austria, in 2004. In the course of a vertical diversification strategy, a competence centre for machining was installed in Ternberg in 2005, and a permanent mould casting plant followed in Hlinik nad Hronom in Slovakia in 2006. Following the takeover of the aluminium sand casting technology segment from Georg Fischer Automotive at the sites in Friedrichshafen and Garching in Germany, the company’s capability was once again significantly increased, and entering large series production opened up another customer market.
MWS is currently the international market leader in aluminium sand casting. 800 employees generate annual revenues of approx. € 150 million at six sites in three European countries. The objective for the future is solid growth based on a strategic expansion of the product segments. In addition to the core segment automotive, components for machine construction and other industry segments will be manufactured.
